Foundation...
Art... I feel stands for "always respect trust"... a willingness to embrace mystery... the plan for my work is no plan... I choose to play with the unknown... to listen...to pay attention to the "how" of life... to have reverence for life
and to pass on the great humor I experience...
The 70's and 80's...
During these years I traveled between California and Hawaii... always drawing and painting, creating mostly visionary images devoted to beauty... some of my work was used on a new age music cd, metaphysical magazine covers and I was published in a book called "Visionary Artists from Mt. Shasta"... in 1979 I began eating healthier, studying nutrition, and in the early 80's I began exploring Tai Chi and various massage and healing modalities...
The 90's...
Moved to New Mexico in 1990 and had a gallery space in Madrid NM... began creating sculpture from found and recycled objects... also sold my works in Santa Fe, Washington, Texas, Colorado, and Florida until my hands let me know I needed a break...
The early 2000's...
Had my own gallery spaces in Cerrillos and Madrid NM... my focus was on photography, drawing and painting... while helping my hands heal from the overuse they experienced while making sculptures in the 90's... spent quite a bit of time researching what was going on with the environmental movement for some television programming ideas... continued my study of nutrition and healing practices... created a massage technique that integrates music and rhythm with variations of Jinshin Jytsu, Reiki, and Shiatsu...
Not too long ago... June 2007 - June 2007...
was blessed to have a patron from Mexico pay my expenses for one year so that I could focus on my art work... as a thank you for this opportunity I put aside a percentage of the sales of my work for a Mexican artist that was chosen by the patron... the concentration I was able to give to my work during this year was a tremendous help to the growth of my abilitie...
Most recent... December 2007 - May 2008...
While visiting Phuket for several months I met a fantastic artist from Australia named John Underwood... John was gracious to hire me to create sculptures for the Indigo Pearl Resort... a project he was working on with architect Bill Bensley... in May of 2008 I was hired to work for the month by the Indigo Pearl resort to create another sculpture, teach a team building workshop using found and recycled objects, and to be an art consultant... |
